Two25 is Moving to the Madison!

Two25 won't be located at 225 NE Adams St. anymore.

The 500 block of Main Street, site of the to-be-renovated Madison Theater building, is to be the new home of the longstanding Downtown Peoria restaurant.

Formerly located at the Mark Twain Hotel, Two25 is to occupy most of the Madison building's two-story retail space along Main Street. The main restaurant is to be on the ground floor, with upstairs devoted to banquets and special events.

Coronavirus-pandemic restrictions on indoor dining led to the end of Two25 at the Mark Twain, according to Caplis. The upscale-casual restaurant survived the initial lockdown last March but not the second one this past winter.

"When the second lockdown came is when we decided, 'That's enough,'" Caplis said. A 50% increase in Mark Twain rent didn't help, according to Caplis.

Two25 is expected to open temporarily late this year in the Madison building. It's to occupy space last filled by Rumberger’s Wings and More, at Main Street and Madison Avenue.

Sometime next year, when Madison renovation work is to begin, Two25 is to close again before it reopens for good post-construction.
